The skin of the child is very soft, tender and sensitive and needs good protection. Using cotton clothing for winters is as bad as using woollen clothes for summers. The clothes should be preferable made of cotton since they are considered the safest and most comfortable. It also helps the skin breathe and prevents the child from becoming irritable due to sweat.

This can be achieved easily by having features like long helms and cuffs that can be altered as the child grows.
